You can't get much closer to the Airport Express Train without camping on the platform.

Three minutes from the airport train platform to the lobby. The Bjørvika neighborhood around it is modern Oslo at full volume: the Opera House across the street, the Munch Museum down the road, Deichman Library next door. Polished, urban, zero coziness.

The breakfast is enormous. A flagship spread even by Norwegian standards, with fresh-baked bread, smoothies, hot dishes, and quality local ingredients. The catch is that 480 rooms' worth of people want it at the same time. The dining room at 8 AM is a zoo. Go before 7:30 or after 9:30.

Standard rooms are small. If the price difference is modest, upgrade to a Business Room, which adds a balcony, a Nespresso machine, and enough floor space to actually open your bag. Ask for a high floor facing the Opera House. The "city view" rooms often stare at the train station or office blocks.

There's no traditional air conditioning. A central cooling system does its best, but on hot summer days the rooms get warm. Opening the window helps with temperature and hurts with noise from the street and trains below. Parts of the hotel are under renovation until July 2026, so daytime construction noise is a real possibility. The fitness center on the 4th floor has an outdoor terrace, which is a nice touch.

Ask for a high floor facing the Opera House. The generic 'city view' often means train tracks and office buildings.


Bjørvika is modern, clean, and architecturally impressive but soulless. Great for sightseeing, not for atmosphere or local character.
