Soria Moria Hotel Oslo

Panoramic views of the Oslo Fjord and city lights from a quiet hilltop surrounded by forest and ski trails, with a heated pool looking out at Norwegian forest.

Forest silence plus city panorama is the entire reason to stay here. From the terrace, from the pool, from the right room, it's spectacular. The heated indoor pool has big windows looking out at treetops, and there's a sauna with the same kind of view.

If you're in Oslo for sightseeing the major attractions, this is not for you. Soria Moria sits high in the Holmenkollen district, surrounded by Nordmarka forest. The nearest metro station, Voksenkollen, is about 800 meters away, and that walk is uphill, on roads that get icy in winter. The metro ride downtown takes 20 to 35 minutes after that. This is not a city hotel.

Rooms are clean and the Jensen beds are comfortable, but the decor leans corporate conference center. Standard rooms can face the parking lot or the forest, which is fine but unremarkable. Book a superior room with a fjord view on a high floor, otherwise you're paying a premium for a location whose best asset you can't see from your bed. Bathrooms are on the small side.

Parking is on site but not free, around 130 NOK per day, and there are EV chargers available.

Ask for a superior room with fjord view on a high floor. Standard rooms often face the parking lot, which defeats the purpose of staying up here.

Forest, ski trails, and silence. Holmenkollen is a wealthy residential area on the hillside above Oslo, not a neighborhood with shops or restaurants within walking distance.
