Jul i Vinterland

A centrally located, seasonal public winter event that combines a public ice rink, chalet-style stalls with Norwegian seasonal food and crafts.

Jul I Vinterland (Christmas in Winter Land) is Oslo’s seasonal christmas market and event staged in Spikersuppa in central Oslo. The program is built around an open-air ice rink set in the drained fountain basin, rows of wooden chalet stalls selling seasonal food and crafts, and fairground attractions including a Ferris wheel and a small carousel.

The event runs through the Christmas period and stages daily activity programming and themed installations aimed at families and visitors to the city center. The location is as central as it gets between Nationaltheatret and the Parliament. There's an on-site skate rental service alongside free use of the rink if you bring your own skates. Entry to the market itself is free. The organisers publish specific opening hours for the season, check their website in advance, and some attractions operate on separate ticketing.

The Spikersuppa rink is explicitly free for visitors who bring their own skates while the event operates an on-site skate rental service for those who need equipment.
