Ten minutes on foot from baggage claim to your pillow. No shuttle, no taxi needed.
The rooms are spacious by European standards, beds are comfortable, and the design is clean Scandinavian minimalist. The soundproofing on the windows is impressive, planes take off right there but the noise stays outside. The walls between rooms are a different story. Doors slam, hallway chatter carries, and neighbors can be heard through the walls. Ask for a top-floor room at the end of the corridor. The lighting controls in the rooms are weirdly complicated. Some kind of master switch panel that leads to accidentally blasting every light in the room at 3 AM while fumbling for the bathroom.
Breakfast starts at 4:00 AM for you to fill up before catching your early morning flight. The spread is big, high-quality, proper Norwegian style with fresh bread, fish, and cheeses.
There's an Italian restaurant on-site, Popolo, that's decent but expensive. Kitchen closes around 10 PM. A lobby shop sells snacks and essentials at hotel markup. The walk from the airport terminal is not fully covered, and Bergen gets rain like other cities get sunshine. Bring a jacket or prepare to sprint. Or stay at the Clarion Bergen Airport Hotel which is closer to the airport and has a covered walkway.
